The Sense of Place

city          .  Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

program   .

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is a place that allows visitors to hear the sounds of nature since the park is surrounded by water and has layers of vegetation. The project is a Museum of Senses that immerses in the forest and the ocean to exhibit the sense of this place. It creates multiple events using sounds that stimulate people’s interactions. These include galleries that exhibit the natural sounds of the site, and exhibition spaces for sound artists. Galleries enhance this place through sounds, views, and materials to address all the senses. The program includes seating and lying down areas, outdoor and indoor spaces for relaxing and mediating that elevate our senses to change the way we may perceive the space.
